- Boys JV soccer will practice Sunday from 4:30-6pm on the South Commons Field
- Picture retake day will be October 11, anyone wishing retakes or didn’t get your photo taken, please make sure you get one taken, location will be announced when determined
- Any student wishing to be nominated for the Lester B Pearson International Scholarship or the University of Toronto National Book Award please check the grad board or your gnspes 2019 classroom for more information.
- All Grade 12 students are asked to sign into the GNSPES Class of 2019. The code to enter the classroom is g8hl9k5 The Code is also posted in the hallway across from the guidance office.
- Canadian Cancer Society Youth Open House. Are you a high school student or teacher? Join us for the inaugural Youth Open House at The Lodge that Gives. You will have the opportunity to tour the Lodge, learn about the Relay for Life program and Camp Goodtime. Further, you will learn about ground breaking research in Nova Scotia, services offered to those fighting cancer and hear from a cancer survivor. - Army Reserves Open House & Job Fair on September 29 from 9 am to 3 pm at Willow Park, CFB Halifax.
- The 2021 Canada Summer Games will be held in the Niagara Region in Ontario. The coaching staff of the women’s softball program invite all interested females in Nova Scotia born between 2003 and 2005 to participate in the selection process. The successful candidates will represent Nova Scotia at those games. Contact Softball Nova Scotia for further information. softballns@sportnovascotia.ca
- Alderney Landings Fear the Darkness Haunted House is looking for volunteers immediately for help in scaring, line-ups, escape room assistants, painting and set up. The house runs the month of October, but work is done through the year. Alderney signs off on volunteer hours for community service for school and jobs. A sign-up sheet is available in the guidance office or online.

- Citadel Varsity boys soccer team tied CPA 2-2, with goals from Yousef Zebian and Alec Napier.
- Just a reminder for those interested in the Citadel Lights club they will be meeting in room 211 at lunch on Monday.
- Representatives from mindyourmind will be coming to Halifax the weekend of Sept. 28-30 to work with some folks from the Laing House and Heartwood organizations. We're going to be running a Design Lab workshop weekend, which will essentially be facilitating some group conversations about the mental health issues that young people in Halifax are facing and then building some new resources for those issues. We're looking for a few more youth ages 15 - 25, who can participate in the entire weekend, Friday evening, saturday and sunday 9:30- 3pm each day and are willing to talk about what issues are facing their peers. They don't need to disclose any personal information. It's free to attend, and we provide food and volunteer hours too. Come to guidance office if you are interested and we will give the contact information.
- There is an upcoming event called India Fest of Lights (Diwali). Diwali is a celebration that spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Its celebration that includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed. In the celebration of this we invite the Citadel community to come out on October. 5th, 6th and 7th (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at the Halifax Forum. The event timings will be : Friday - 3pm - 10pm, Saturday 11am - 10pm and Sunday 11am - 10pm. During this 3 day event we will be having performances, food, henna tattoos, a photobooth, fireworks (8:30pm on Saturday and Sunday), games and an open dance floor for the public to join in. We will be giving all students who show their student ID at the front door free admission.
