Citadel High School

November 27th, 2017

  • Today we are having our Transgender Day of Remembrance. On this day, we will be giving out “My Pronouns Are...” pins. There is also a banner hung in the cafeteria. This day is important for us all to recognize the people in the transgender community who have made a difference or passed away, because these people have improved our lives and made the world a more accepting and trans-inclusive place. No matter who you are or what you identify as, you are important, and everyone’s name and pronouns should be respected. Transgender people of all ages and backgrounds have had human rights for years, although they have not been protected by the law until recently, and they are often violated. For these reasons and more, it is important to show support for transgender people, no matter what stage of transition they are at. And remember that we all have pronouns.
